Purpose: To establish consistency in offering scholarships and awards, with the primary goal of having a lasting and long-term impact on the Mira Mesa High School (MMHS) community and providing long term scholarship opportunities for MMHS students.
Scholarships (to be awarded, as the investment return allows):
- The Jim Vlassis Recognition Scholarship, $500
- The Marauder Achievement Scholarship, $1,000
- The Jim Vlassis Academic Scholarship, $5,000
- The Marauder Academic Scholarship, $10,000
- The Marauder Legacy Scholarship, $25,000

- Blue Donors (donations between $250 – $499.99)
- Gold Donor (donations between $500 – $999.99)
- Diamond Donor (donations between $1,000 – $2,499.99)
- Platinum Donor (donations of $2,500 and above)
Funds for The Marauder Legacy Endowment (“The Endowment”) are held in a separate and dedicated account, owned and operated by MMHSAA, and solely reserved and restricted to The Marauder Legacy Endowment Fund. The Endowment is managed by a licensed financial advisor, whose role is to report on The Endowment assets and maximize investment returns. Once The Endowment is established and able to consistently support annual distributions, investment earnings shall be withdrawn and used to provide fixed scholarships to MMHS students, less any reasonable management fees incurred by The Endowment. MMHSAA shall exercise reasonable judgement in disbursing scholarships, with the goal of establishing and maintaining perpetual scholarships.
